Vitterhetsakademien

Publication

Since 1906, the Academy, in co-operation with the National Historical Museum, has published the periodical Fornvännen, which is the leading review of Swedish antiquarian research. Like other scholarly reviews, Fornvännen receives a grant from the Swedish Research Council in the field of humanities and social sciences.

The Academy’s Yearbook lists the Academy members, as well as biographical notes on deceased members, obituaries, articles – including inauguration lectures by new Academy members – and statistical and financial information concerning the Academy.

To this should be added the publication of learned works, monographs or issues in long-established scholarly series. Most titles are published in Swedish, in many cases with summaries in English.

The lists in the catalogue of publications are mainly in Swedish. However, at the top of each page there is a link to Information in English where information on how to order or buy books can be found. Where necessary, texts within the lists have been translated. Close to every information symbol (see above) there is an ”In English” link.
